Take Your Mama Out All Night

The last day of J-term... that's great. What a pathetic, stupid month this was. Did I do ANYTHING productive?

No. Well, I found some more music I like on the network, and yesterday Matt sent me the entire Kill Bill score. Is that productive? Hmm, not really.
Next week is touring week... funny, I don't really want another week off. I've spent all of my money. There is really nothing else for me to do. Please let it be second semester. I know, I know. It's my own damn fault for being a slacker. It's just been difficult for a number of reasons, which I will not write here.

I need to go workout, or eat, or shower. But first I'm going to listen to this hilarious Wyclef Jean song I found.

Three Cheers for the Hot Tub!

WOO! I just got back from the Lund Hot Tub with Jackie and Heidi. Amazingly enough, it was the first time I'd ever been there... and it was GREAT! I feel so warm and relaxed and happy. I remember people trying to get me to go quite a bit last year, but for some reason, I never went. Boy, was I missing out! Seriously... you gotta try it. :)

I made it safely to Chicago and back last week. We left on Thursday morning and got back Sunday night. It was an interesting trip, to say the least. The weather was crazy bad. Honestly, I haven't seen that much snow in years... over a foot (and in a big city, a lot of snow makes people insane). It was windy and cold, too... but it IS January. I think the crazy weather actually made it a more unique experience. It was weird hanging out with three guys who I don't know all that well for four days... but I'm still alive (even after Sean putting the car in the ditch near Madison, walking through knee-deep snow, drinking way too much, and getting stuck in traffic for hours). I hope my pictures turn out.
I really love Chicago and would like to live there someday soon. It'd be awesome if some museum there would just call me and give me a job... I'd be there in a second.

I'm glad J-term's almost over. I've realized I need some sort of schedule in my life. Since I dont' have much money and since most everyone else is pretty busy, I've done a lot of sitting around by myself. I window shop, but honestly, the Mankato mall can get old.

I taped 24 tonight so I could go swimming. I think I'll go watch that now. :)

Existing

Yep, it's still J-term. I still haven't done any of the things I said I'd do during my month of free time... because I still haven't done ANYTHING at all! I'm going to Chicago on Thursday with Sean, Dan, & Bjorn. We're taking Sean's parent's PT Cruiser. Funny. I hope it's a good time. I've never roadtripped with that much testosterone before.

I went shopping with Jay (brother) yesterday. That's always nice. He's fashion-concious. There were so many sales yesterday. I think I only bought one thing that was actually full-price. Cool, man. I have to go again today - in Mankato.

My friend Dan from Eau Claire introduced me to the Scissor Sisters last night. (He sent me some songs over AIM). They are so great! It's like the Beegees, Elton John, and George Michael all in one band! I'm definitely getting that CD.

Off to do more nothing.... ciao.

For Greg

Apparently, I am not updating this enough for certain readers (namely Greg Gorham). Since it is still J-term and I am still doing absolutely nothing, I really don't have all that much to say. But, for Greg's sake, I'll try my best...
This past week, I slept on the couch in AV almost every single night, staying up until at least 4am every night. I definitely got my fill of testosterone while hangin' out with all those guys. Damn. Watched a lot of 24 and Star Trek. Surprisingly, I haven't played Tetris since the holiday break.
Tonight I'm going to St. Olaf to see my good friend Adam, then tomorrow I'm going to RF for a few days. Hope to be back at GAC for the weekend.

I also hope to actually get going on my grad school & job searches. So far, my basic day consists of waking up at some time after 11am, eating some food, sitting on the couch, going to Lund, showering, eating more food, and watching TV. I really need to actually do something or go somewhere fun in order to keep myself sane!

So Greg, I hope this was good enough for you. I hope you're having a great time in NYC. (Lucky.) You'll have to tell me all about it when you get back to GAC.

Slacker

That's it! I am officially a bum.
I haven't had access to a working computer for a little while, but now that I'm back on campus, I can update this thing.
It's J-term, and the only plans that I have for the month are 1) to sit on my ass, and... oh, yeah, that's it. I'd like to be crazy and roadtrip... or at least find some fun to have. I might go to Chicago. We'll see if that actually goes through.
I also have to decide on a grad school - that means I have to call a lot of random admissions people. Scary. I should probably try to find a job for the summer and following year.
Ugh.
Christmas wasn't all that great. I gave my mother a list of 3 things that I wanted. I ended up getting those three things... and a lot of other very weird stuff... like a yellow robe with cartoon frogs on it (I hate yellow, and I got a robe for Christmas last year). I also got matching pajamas! I told her I didn't want anything else other than the items on the list, but I guess she felt bad not having very many presents for me. I returned a bunch of it.
New Year's was crazy, fun for a while, and then very wrong. I guess you'll have that at large parties with large amounts of alcohol. I hope my pictures turn out.

So that's about it from the world of Laura. Please message or call me if you're bored, 'cause I can almost guarantee that I'll be bored too!
